Spotted earlier today in a leaked photo, the alleged Sony Xperia G appeared in another image now, this time allowing us to see a bit more of its rear. To be clear, the handset sitting on top is the Sony Xperia Z1. So the Xperia G - assuming that this is its real name - has a camera (with LED flash) positioned in the middle of its back case.
According to @ViziLeaks, the Xperia G is part of a new D-series from Sony. Reportedly, the handset features a 4.8 inch display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory. The rear camera should be an 8MP one. Unlike Sony’s latest high-end smartphones, the Xperia G doesn’t seem to be waterproof.
The Xperia G could be the Sony D5103 that we saw in a benchmark test yesterday. If that is true, it will run Android 4.4 KitKat, being powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. Also, its 4.8 inch display should have a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.
Sony confirmed that it would host a press event on February 24 at MWC, so perhaps it will announce the Xperia G then - alongside the high-end Xperia D6503 "Sirius."
